Hanson Pipe & Precast, Frontier Landscaping, Inc., and The Nutter Foundation teamed up to create and install a one-of-a-kind play structure benefiting the children at Aurora Place Apartments, an affordable housing complex owned by Second Step Housing. The play structure and landscaping was designed for and utilized at this year’s Dozer Days event, sponsored by The Nutter Foundation.

Hanson Pipe & Precast, designer and manufacture of the playground, refers to the structure as “Fun by the ton!” because the 70- by 10-foot structure consists of 71 tons of concrete shaped into tunnels and tubes for children to climb through. Frontier Landscaping Inc. designed and installed a park-like setting around the structure, and H&H Wood Recyclers donated the cedar chips used around the fall space. Youth from the Restorative Community Services group volunteered their time installing the landscape and preparing the land for the play structure.
