Hanson Pipe, Frontier Landscaping, and The Nutter Foundation have teamed up to create a one-of-a-kind play structure that will benefit the children living at Aurora Place Apartments, an affordable housing complex owned by Second Step Housing. The play structure and landscaping was designed for and will be utilized at the May 16th Dozer Day event, sponsored by The Nutter Foundation.
Hanson Pipe, designer and manufacture of the playground, refers to the structure as “Fun by the ton!” because the 70- by 10-foot structure consists of 71 tons of concrete shaped into tunnels and tubes for children to climb through. The structure is so massive it will require an 80-ton crane to place it on the Aurora Place property. It will be installed at Aurora Place (8105 NE Fourth Plain Rd, Vancouver, WA 98662) on Tuesday, May 19. at 1:00 p.m.
Media is invited and encouraged to attend!
Along with the play structure, Frontier Landscaping Inc. is designing and installing a park-like setting that will be beautiful and function for families. The fall space will be covered with cedar chips provided by H&H Wood Recyclers to ensure that children are safe as they have fun.
The children of Aurora Place have been asking for a playground since the housing complex was created in 2007, and now they get to see their wish come true in massive proportion!
